The Prince, who is known as the Earl of Strathearn while in Scotland, joined his close relative and grandparents as several spectators coated the lanes to welcome the royals. As individuals from the Order, each of the four were dressed generally in the radiant formal mantles of the Order as they participated in a great parade to the Chapel of the Order of the Thistle in Edinburgh, for the Order of the Thistle Service which happens each other year. The regal party touched base at the house of prayer to a trumpet pomp and drove a parade to the Chapel, joined by the Chancellor, Dean and Secretary of the Thistle and also the present Knights of the Order including Lord Smith of Kelvin, Lord Steel and Lord Cullen. The parade then proceeded to the Cathedral for the rest of the Service, which included readings, psalms and supplications.
